Rishabh Pant joined the Delhi Daredevils camp on Friday.

Delhi Daredevils head coach Paddy Upton has spoken of the need for his side to rally around Rishabh Pant, who suffered an unfortunate bereavement earlier this week .

The 20-year-old wicket-keeper batsman, who had been away following the death of his father, rejoined the Delhi side at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday night. “It is very, very difficult particularly when a tragedy happens like this suddenly,” said Upton, once the mental conditioning coach of the Indian team.

“(He’s a) young man. So, we're going to really need the whole team to rally around him to give him a lot of support not only over the next couple of days but throughout the IPL. Something like this is obviously going to affect him in the medium and long term. We just have to be mindful and supportive of his personal situation and family situation.”
