Irfan Ansari charged under ICC anti-corruption code
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged Irfan Ansari with three counts of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

United Arab Emirates based coach Irfan Ansari was suspended following allegations from Pakistan's captain Sarfraz Ahmed that he was approached to participate in a spot fixing scheme, Crickcet's administrative body said on Thursday.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged Irfan Ansari with three counts of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
Ansari, who is originally from Pakistan, has coached a number of small professional clubs in the UAE for years.
The charges centre on Sarfraz's admission to the Pakistan Cricket Board and the ICC that Ansari had approached him about spot fixing during the one-day series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the UAE last October.
In a statement, the ICC wrote: “Ansari is party to the code through his position as a person who is affiliated to a team that participates in International Matches and the Coach of the One Stop Tourism and Multiplex international teams who participate in domestic matches in the UAE. He has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect and has been charged with three offences.”
“Under the Code Article 2.3.3, for directly soliciting, inducing, enticing or encouraging a participant to breach Code Article 2.3.2. Article 2.4.6 – for failure or refusal to cooperate with the ACU’s investigation by failing to provide accurately and completely the information and / or documentation requested by the ACU in October 2017. Article 2.4.6 –for failure or refusal to cooperate with the ACU’s investigation by failing to provide accurately and completely the information and / or documentation requested by the ACU in February 2018,” the statement read.
Ansari has 14 days from May 19, to respond to the charges.
