Johri to meet Rathore to discuss bilateral series against Pakistan

Since India had not committed to bilateral series against Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board had refused to be a party to the world leagues.

In order to seek clarity over India's bilateral series against Pakistan, the BCCI chief executive Rahul Johri is set to meet Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore in the national capital on Wednesday.

Sportstar understands that the ministry took cognisance of reports about BCCI citing the government's red-flag over playing Pakistan while discussing the proposed Test and ODI leagues mooted by the ICC. As a result, the ministry reached out to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) stating that the government has not issued any such diktat. Since India had not committed to bilateral series against Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board had refused to be a party to the world leagues. With a group of ICC member associations set to meet next week for shaping up the proposed leagues, the CoA is understood to have directed Johri to get clarity over the matter.
