The highest run-scorer in T20 International cricket, Martin Guptill.

Martin Guptill has become the highest run-scorer in Twenty20 International cricket, going past his former team-mate, Brendon McCullum, who had occupied the top position with 2140 runs from 71 matches.

In the fifth match of the Trans-Tasman T20 tri-series, Guptill was 57 runs behind McCullum, in second place. And such was his batting rhythm that he took only 30 balls to get to fifty and a further 10 balls to surpass McCullum on the run charts.

Australia was the team on the receiving end of Guptill's onslaught, as even the slightest error in line and length was punished by him, who went unsold at the recently concluded IPL 2018 auction last month.

Guptill made the most of his good batting form and notched up his second T20I century off 50 balls. He was dismissed for 105 off 54 balls, an innings studded with six fours and nine humongous sixes.
