Meg Lanning smashed an unbeaten 133 off 63 balls to enter record books as Australia gets the better of England in opening T20I.

Meg Lanning struck an unbeaten 133 off 63 balls to register the highest individual score in Women’s T20Is as Australia humbled England in the opening Ashes T20 in Chelmsford on Friday.
Lanning powered Australia to its highest T20I total, 226/3, and then, the visitor restricted England to 133. The 93-run victory is Australia’s biggest win by margin of runs in the shortest format.
Lanning’s fifty came off just 24 balls as she stitched 134 runs for the second wicket with Beth Mooney. She raised her bat in the next 27 balls — a 100 off 51. Her innings comprised 17 fours and seven sixes.
The Australian captain surpassed Dutch batswoman Sterre Kallis’ record — 126 not out against Germany earlier this year — and became the third woman to hit multiple T20I tons; Deandra Dottin (West Indies) and Danielle Wyatt (England) are right up in the list of centuries.
Brief scores: Australia 226/3 (M Lanning 133*, B Mooney 54; S Ecclestone 2/42) beat England 133/9 in 20 overs (L Winfield 33; M Schutt 3/25, E Perry 2-11) by 93 runs.
