The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has dismissed reports suggesting that India head coach Ravi Shastri’s appointment could come under scanner if the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) is found conflicted.

“There is no such question,” CoA chief, Vinod Rai, told  Sportstar  on Sunday.

On Saturday, BCCI’s ethics officer, Justice (retired) D.K. Jain served notices on CAC members — Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy — for alleged conflict of interest allegations levelled by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association’s life member, Sanjeev Gupta. In his complaint, Gupta had alleged that the trio is conflicted as per the Lodha Committee’s proposal of one person, one post.

While one of the CAC members, Rangaswamy, has already resigned from the committee and as the director of Indian Cricketers Association, some reports claimed that Shastri — who was named the head coach of the Indian team last month — may have to be re-appointed in case the CAC members are found conflicted.

Another member of the CoA, Ravindra Thodge, too told this publication that there is no such possibility. “Before forming the CAC, we had asked the members to submit ‘No Conflict of Interest’ declarations and there was no conflict found by the BCCI,” Thodge said.

“The CAC was appointed only for one particular purpose and as far as Shastri’s appointment is concerned, it has been done legally and we have already given him a contract, so there’s no question of any changes now,” Thodge said.

Kapil, Gaekwad and Rangaswamy were named in the Cricket Advisory Committee after Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman refused to be part of the process for selecting India’s women’s coach, last year.

The committee, initially working as an ad-hoc body, had conducted interviews and eventually named WV Raman as the head coach of the women's team.
