No actionable incidents of wrongdoing in TNPL, says TNCA

The internal committee formed by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to probe allegations of fixing by cricketers and coaches during the 2019 edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), has found ‘no actionable incidents’ of wrongdoing. 

In a media release, the TNCA said, “The report of the committee which went into the information made available to the TNPL has been studied by us. We have decided to accept the report which has opined that no actionable incidents had been noticed.” 

The three-member committee, which included former India leg-spinner L. Sivaramakrishnan, P. Raghu Raman (senior advocate) and Nanjil Kumaran (former Commissioner of Police, Chennai), has also given a few suggestions to ensure that such allegations don’t arise next year, including increased vigil around the games. 

The association has vowed to have a zero-tolerance policy to any such wrongdoing. 

The Apex Council of the TNCA, at its 925th Meeting held on Thursday, in accordance with Rule 4(i) of the Memorandum of Association & Rules and Regulations of the TNCA, authorised R.S. Ramasaamy, Hony. Secretary, TNCA, to attend and vote in the General Body Meeting of the BCCI, scheduled to be held in Mumbai on October 23.
