Virat Kohli named skipper of ICC ODI XI
Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli was named captain of International Cricket Council's 2016 ODI XI that was announced on Thursday. His team-mates Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were the other Indians to feature in the ODI team of the year.

Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli was named captain of International Cricket Council’s 2016 ODI XI that was announced on Thursday. His team-mates Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were the other Indians to feature in the ODI team of the year.
Virat Kohli amassed 626 runs in 10 ODIs at 62.60 with three hundreds.
Alastair Cook was named captain of the Test XI for the third time while Dale Steyn made it to the side for the eighth time in nine years. Ravichandran Ashwin, the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year, was the only Indian to be named in the squad.
With Rahul Dravid, Gary Kirsten and Kumar Sangakkara selecting the Test and ODI sides based on players’ performances from 14 September 2015 to 20 September 2016, Kohli missed out on a place in the Test squad as his superlative batting and captaincy in the New Zealand and England series couldn’t be taken into consideration.
