On 18 April 2007, 19-year-old Lionel Messi scored an incredible goal as FC Barcelona beat Getafe 5-2 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals. It was Messi’s third season playing for Barça’s first team and this goal drew further comparisons with Diego Armando Maradona.
