Argentina picks Bauza as new coach

Argentina, still reeling from the shock resignations of captain Lionel Messi and coach Gerardo Martino, has chosen Edgardo Bauza as its new coach, his Brazilian club Sao Paulo said on Monday.

Bauza, who guided LDU Quito (2008) and San Lorenzo (2014) to Copa Libertadores success, will leave Sao Paulo to take on the job Martino left a month ago.

“Sao Paulo announces that Edgardo Bauza has received and accepted the offer of the Argentine Football Association to take charge of the national team... (He) leaves the club after eight months' work,” the Brazilian club said in a statement.
