Arsenal continues to press, a goal here would seal the quarterfinal berth for either of the teams. But going by the momentum, Arsenal is more likely to get a breakthough
Saka on the left whips one out to Odegaard on the near post but the latter mishits it for a goal kick

Corner for Arsenal, Saka takes it. Good delivery, Hodling gets his head to it but was not able to control the ball. So Close!. Just a minute added

UNLUCKY! Yet another defensive blunder, this time from Essugo. Trossard capitalises and breaks away and shoots, Adan comes up with a brilliant save as the ball rattles the post
White intercepts at a crucial position and tries a through ball towards Vieira inside the box but the pass runs out for a goal kick

CHANCE SQUANDERED! Saka on the right receives the ball to link up with Trossard, who tries a back heel but no one is there to get it
Sporting will start the proceedings and will go right to left
The referee blows the whistle and that means the game will have another 30 minutes atleast
Corner for Arsenal as Saka’s pass is pushed out. Trossard to take the kick but nothing comes off it. Free kick for Sporting as Gabiel challenges Ugarte

Just under three minutes to go and it looks like the game will move to extra time as the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw, making it 3-3 on aggregate
Trincao shot is deflected for a Sporting corner, nothing comes off it
Corner for Arsenal, Xhaka gets it perfectly but he heads it wide
Free kick for Arsenal at a dangerous position as Martinelli is fouled right before the box. Viera takes it, on target but Adan punches it out for an Arsenal throw
Ramsdale is down and in agony from that save, the last thing that Arsenal wants now is another injury..
CHANCE! Ricardo puts in a wonderful through ball towards a running Edwards, he runs into the box and shoots but a brilliant save from Ramsdale averts danger.

Corner for Sporting, a well places ball comes in, Paulinho heads it but it goes brushing past the crossbar.
PEDRO!! WHAT A STUNNING LONG RANGER! PURE BRILLIANCE! Ramsdale leaves the post alone to take a couple of steps forward. Pedro sees the opportunity and shoots from the halfway mark to restore parity!
Arsenal is taking it slow and steady, allowing Sporting to come into its half but not too close to comfort. The compact defense is keeping Sporting at bay
Ten minutes into the second half and Sporting seems to be the better side, as they were during the initial minutes of the first 45 minutes. And it looks like Arsenal has become a bit lethargic after taking the lead
Ugarte gets yelolow for a strong sliding tackle on Martinelli
Pote goes for glory from a long way out but the ball is nowhere near the goal post
Brilliant run from Ugarte as he ran past three defenders before finding Paulinho deep in the Arsenal penalty box. Paulinho then put in a searching cross towards Edwards but it is cleared away

Four added minutes. YELLOW CARD for Xhaka for his challenge on Trincao. And the referee blows his whistle. Mikel Arteta will be happy with his side’s performance after being on the back foot for the initial 10 minutes
Edwards runs through the middle and gets near the box before putting a through ball in an attempt to find a running Paulinho but the ball travels faster than expected for a goal kick
Sporting is yet to find a shot on target. Arsenal on the other hand has been pressing constantly, testing the defense
Neat footwork from Jesus sees him glide into the Sporting box, but Adan makes another important stop to keep Sporting alive
Martinelli makes yet another stunning run into the final thrid but is caught offside in the process
Jesus dribbles past three defenders in quick time and goes into the box before shooting. A superb save from Adan stops him in his tracks
Paulinho breaks free as he gets the ball from distance, he evades a couple of defenders with just Ramsdale in front of him. But he loses control of the ball but finds momentum just after. That gives Zinchenko enough time to come in between to save a shot from Paulinho
Zinchenko from the middle puts in a through ball to Martinelli who tries to cross it but a good tackle from Juste keeps the ball away. Nothing comes from Arsenal’s corner
Brilliant run from Martinelli as he runs from one half to the other before finding Vieira on the right. He then chips it into the middle but the ball is cleared
Arsenal’s Vieira is shown the yellow for a mindless tackle
Gabriel puts in a dangerous pass to Jesus on the right, he runs deep into the box before he stumbles. Huge shouts for penalty but Jesus is caught offside!
Saliba OUT, Holding IN (Looks like Saliba has pulled a muscle as he struggles to walk off the pitch)
GRANIT XHAKA IS THE MAN AS THE HOST TAKES THE LEAD! Jorghinho with a beautiful through ball for Martinelli on the right, he runs in and shoots. Adan saves but Xhaka is there to finish on the rebound! Arsenal leads 3-2 in aggregate
BRILLIANT SAVE FROM ADAN! Vieira on the right finds Nelson, runs into the final thrid and puts in a cross. Jesus attempts to convert the volley but Adan comes up with a fine save
Jorginho puts in a through ball directed towards a running Jesus inside the box but Adan pro actively saves it to avert danger
CHANCE! Trincao gets the ball right at the edge of the box, he makes space for himself and slashes a left footed curler but it doesnt do enough to trouble Ramsdale
Pressure from Arsenal forces Sporting to run back into their own half
Trincao continues to rattle the defense as he runs through two defenders and finds Goncalves. He then puts in a searching cross inside the box, Paulinho tries to head it but the ball goes out for a goal kick
Tomiyasu OUT, Ben White IN
Looks like Arsenal’s Tomiyasu has injured himself while tackling Trincao, medical team arrives to attend the defender while Ben White is warming up to replace him. Does not look good for the japanese as he limps off the pitch
Free kick for Sporting and Trincao takes it, he tries a cheeky short pass on the left but the attack fails and Sporting loses possession
Paulinho starts Sporting’s counter as he runs through the right wing with ease before finding Edwards. The latter then puts in a lofted through ball inside the box but it is cleared away by the defense
A stumble from Esaigo leads to Jesus breaking free, chasing the ball with just Adan and the goal between him but the goalkeeper reacts well to collect the ball safely
Gabriel Jesus starts things off as Arsenal plays left to right. Oleksander Zinchenko initiates the attack by dishing out a through ball on the left lane, targetting Martinelli but the ball travels a tad bit fast for a goal kick

All set in North London as the players lineup to take th field. Huge game for both the teams considering Eruopa playoffs is at stake, the reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw
When failing to win a home first leg of a two-legged knockout tie in major European competition, Sporting have been eliminated in 21 of their previous 22 such ties, although the exception was most recently, beating FC Midtjylland in this season’s UEFA Europa League play-off round after a 4-0 second leg away win.
Arsenal are without a win in their last three UEFA Europa League knockout stage games at home (D2 L1), with their last such win coming against Portuguese opposition, beating Benfica 3-2 in February 2021.
Arsenal have lost just one of their nine home games against Portuguese clubs in all European competition (W7 D1), a 1-3 defeat to Benfica which saw them eliminated from the 1991-92 European Cup last 16.

On course for a first Premier League title in 19 years, Arsenal doesn’t seem to mind having European commitments to clog up its end-of-season schedule.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta maintains winning the Europa League is an important objective for the club and continues to make only minor lineup changes in the competition, like in the 2-2 draw at Sporting in the first leg of the round of 16 last week.
Predicted lineups
Arsenal will be favored to advance going into the return match at Emirates Stadium. Sporting has already played in north London this season — a 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the Champions League. Manchester United is in good shape to progress, leading Real Betis 4-1 from the first leg, while Sevilla — a six-time competition winner — protects a 2-0 lead at Fenerbahce.
Italian teams Juventus and Roma hold leads, too, against Freiburg (1-0) and Real Sociedad (2-0), respectively.
