City rules over Shakhtar, Liverpool held 1-1

Riding on goals by Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, Manchester City overcame Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League fixture here on Tuesday.
Sergio Aguero missed the chance to almost becoming a legend at the club, when his penalty was saved right after the interval.
Bruyne started the proceedings from the 48 minute, thanks to a Marlos slack pass in the midfield. He nudged it to Silva, who prepared the meal, and fed Bruyne from a 25-yard distance – right into the top corner.
In the dying minutes, Sterling pulled off a stellar when he sprinted into the box after releasing Bernardo Silva, who played a low pass to help City add the second goal to its cabinet.

On the other hand, Spartak Moskva held Liverpool 1-1. Fernando opened the hosts’ account with a goal in the 23 minute, but Philippe Coutinho scored an equaliser thereafter and the teams couldnt be separated.
