Premier League’s manager sacking spree continued as Graham Potter of Chelsea became the 12th manager to be removed this campaign, the most in a single season.
Potter, who replaced Thomas Tuchel in September 2022, saw his side go down in a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa in his last match as Chelsea manager.
Potter guided Chelsea to the Champions League quarterfinals after defeating Borussia Dortmund over two legs but had a poor league form. At the moment of Potter’s sacking, Chelsea is 11th in the table, with 38 points from 28 matches.
Earlier in the day, Leicester City sacked head coach Brendan Rodgers as the club finds itself in a relegation battle.
The first manager to be sacked this season was Scott Parker, who was let go by newly-promoted Bournemouth in August.
