SAFF U-15 C'ship: Jangra hat-trick leads India to 5-0 win over Sri Lanka

Himanshu Jangra starred in India's 5-0 thumping of Sri Lanka in the SAFF under-15 football championship.

Himanshu Jangra was the star of the show, as he scored a hat-trick, while Maheson and Shubho Paul also netted one each.

Himanshu Jangra’s hat-trick enabled India to beat Sri Lanka 5-0 and record its third consecutive win in the SAFF under-15 football championship at the Kalyani Stadium on Tuesday.

Jangra scored twice and Maheson Singh netted once as the host took a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Jangra completed his hat-trick and Subho Paul registered one goal against his name after the breather.

In another encounter, Nepal rode on its captain Pradip Lamsal and Krishna Yadav’s braces to post a 4-1 upset win over defending champion Bangladesh.

The results: India 5 (Jangra 32, 42, 61; Maheson 39; Shubho Paul 48) bt Sri Lanka 0; Nepal 4 (Krishna 48, 87; Lamsal 52, 83) bt Bangladesh 1 (Badsha Mia 79).
