Jobby Justin among 7 players released from India's World Cup qualifiers probables

Indian national team head coach Igor Stimac released seven players from the training camp ahead of India's FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers against Oman and Qatar in September.

Indian senior national team coach Igor Stimac released seven players from the national camp in Goa as he brought down the probable squad to a 28-member team.

The released players included defenders Salam Ranjan Singh, Anwar Ali (Jr.), Jerry Lalrinzuala, midfielders Pronay Halder, Halicharan Narzary and forwards Farukh Choudhary and Jobby Justin.

Earlier this month, the Croat had named his list of 35 probables for the preparatory camp for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Oman, and Asian champion Qatar.

India begins its campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Oman and Qatar on September 5, and 10 respectively.

While the match against Oman will held in Guwahati, the fixture against Bangladesh on October 15 will be played in Kolkata.

India is placed in Group E alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman and Qatar.

The 28-member probable squad so far:

GOALKEEPERS:  Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh, Vishal Kaith.

DEFENDERS:  Rahul Bheke, Nishu Kumar, Pritam Kotal, Anas Edathodika, Sandesh Jhingan, Narender Gahlot, Sarthak Golui, Adil Khan, Subhasish Bose, Mandar Rao Dessai.

MIDFIELDERS:  Nikhil Poojary, Udanta Singh, Anirudh Thapa, Raynier Fernandes, Vinit Rai, Sahal Abdul Samad, Amarjit Singh, Rowllin Borges, Brandon Fernandes, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Ashique Kuruniyan.

FORWARDS:  Balwant Singh, Sunil Chhetri, Manvir Singh.
