East Bengal extends Borja Gomez’s contract by two years

I-League side East Bengal has handed Spanish defender Borja Gomez a two-year contract extension.

I-League club East Bengal handed Spanish defender Borja Gomez a two-year contract extension on Friday, the club announced.

“East Bengal FC are pleased to announce the renewal of contract with Borja Gomez Perez for the next two seasons,” the club said in a statement.

Gomez, was one of the key players in East Bengal's squad this season, making 19 appearances.

 

“According to him, this is the best team and ‘fans are the best in India’,” the statement added.

East Bengal, which narrowly missed the I-League title and finished runner-up to Chennai City FC, is looking to retain its key players as it looks to join the Indian Super League next season.
