Bala Devi's quadruple led KRYHPSA to continue its dominant run in the second edition of the Indian Women’s League as the club defeated Gokulam Kerala FC 5-0 in a group stage match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Tuesday.
With this win, KRYHPSA finished top of the group, courtesy of a better goal difference, despite being level on points (14) with Eastern Sporting Union and will face Rising Student Club in the semifinals.
In the second semifinal, Eastern Sporting Union will lock horns against SETHU FC as both matches are slated for kick-off on Thursday.
Devi opened the scoring for the Manipur-based club as early as the sixth minute when she tapped home a cross from the flanks. A wicked deflection saw Dangmei Grace score as the clock went past the first quarter stage of the match.
With two minutes to the interval, skipper Devi once again found the net from inside the box before completing her hat-trick in the added extra-time of the first half to make it 4-0.
KRYHPSA continued its attacking momentum in the second period as the India international found scored her fourth to complete the rout.
