Bozidar Bandovic:  "We started the game very well, scored the goal and looked good on the field. The last 10 minutes before halftime we could not play well. In the second half, last 20 minutes also we were good but it could have been better. Manolo Marquez:  "I am very disappointed with the team, myself and my staff. We had some chances and we could win the game. I am very angry at my players today but I share the blame too. When we were attacking in the second half, I don't know why we stopped in the last 10 minutes. Maybe the players are happy with the point. With due respect to this country, one negative thing about Indian players is their mentality and some of our foreigners have a weak mentality too. You cannot teach this. If you have a weak mentality, it is tough to win." Javier Siverio (Hyderabad FC):  "The pressure is the same as always. When I came onto the match, I tried to help the team. Today I could just help with one goal. The senior players have a lot of experience to share and it is great to train with them and learn from them, especially Bart [Ogbeche] because he plays in my position." Chennaiyin FC's Debjit Majumder (Hero of the Match): "I used to work hard every day and the coach trusted me and I hoped I did well. I would have been happier if we had clinched all three points. Now, we will focus on recovery and work train for the next match."

Reagan Singh (Chennaiyin FC):  The 30-year-old defender has been a dependable figure at the back for Chennaiyin FC this season with 33 clearances, 42 tackles, 18 blocks, and 21 interceptions so far.

Akash Mishra (Hyderabad FC):  The defender has played every minute of Hyderabad FC's season and made 48 tackles, 23 clearances and 17 interceptions.

Bozidar Bandovic on Hyderabad FC:  "This is one of the best-organised teams and has the same coach from before. They are a dangerous team who have built themselves nicely. The way they have played shows that it will not be easy against them."

Manolo Marquez on Chennaiyin FC's campaign so far:  "They have a new coach and a lot of new players. In the beginning, especially in our game, they didn't deserve to win. But results give you confidence. They started the season very well after that they lost some games. After that, it's been up and down but there are seven teams separated by three points. If we win, we will be top of the table but if we lose, Chennaiyin FC will go above us."

Chennaiyin FC: Vladimir Koman will miss this match and return for the next, while Ariel Borysiuk's return is uncertain and a call will be taken by coach Bandovic before the match on his inclusion.

Hyderabad FC: Bartholomew Ogbeche is suspended for Hyderabad’s upcoming match after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season in the last match.

MATCH PREVIEW:ISL 2021-22: Chennaiyin, Hyderabad look to regain momentum

Chennaiyin FC  will take on  Hyderabad FC  in what will be a crucial Indian Super League match on Thursday for both sides at Fatorda.

Both sides have been going through a lean patch in recent games and desperately need a win to regain momentum.

While CFC has lost three of its last four, HFC has just one win in its last five games with the latter holding a two-point advantage over its opponent.  A win for CFC on Thursday will take the side into the top four ahead of HFC.

In its last match, Chennaiyin struggled to create chances as it slumped to a 1-0 defeat to FC Goa and it is something coach Bozidar Bandovic says the team needs to correct soon.

“We need to be better in the attack. Especially in the last game [against FC Goa], we were not good — we lost so many duels and second balls from the opponent. We need to be close to them to be in a better position and be more aggressive,” said Bandovic.

CFC has scored the least amount of goals so far in the tournament and in Hyderabad it faces a strong defensive side that has conceded the joint-lowest number of goals alongside Kerala Blasters FC.

In the first meeting between the two sides, CFC eked out a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty but was outplayed by Hyderabad.

HFC head coach Manolo Marquez said his team would need to take its chances and not let history repeat itself once again.

“Chennaiyin are a team that prefers to play on the counter. We did not deserve to lose the last game against this team. They played with 10 players behind the ball and took advantage of one mistake,” said Marquez.

“So, we have to make sure that we are more prepared this time and should take our chances to win the game,” added the Spaniard.
