Carles Cuadrat "[on the 2nd cooling break] We tried to put new players and get the 3 points. We weren't dong things right and players were in shock about Ashique. We were not getting the ball and losing it very past. Amay and Brown did well. [Did you work on long diagonal balls?] Odisha is unlucky this season. They played well and have lost with little margins. We know they are an offensive team so we try that diagonal long balls to create a 2 vs 1 situation. We need a depth in squad. I am happy with Kristian, Brown, Cleiton, Semboi. The position is covered. [ATKMB match next] It's in 4 days and we need to analyse the situation and have a plan for sure."
Stuart Baxter " Yea i think it was. [Goal wrongly ruled out for offside] You can read the game by one situation. If we get the goal there maybe the hearts and heads together can get the result. We got back into the game, playing well with the ball for a while. We don't restructure and get the principles right sometimes, In the critical phase you get the tone of the game. Pivotal moments in the second half we let them get ahead of steam. I have to worry about not getting the sack first. Tell them to not panic. It's a young team. I have to give them belief and give tactical advantage. We need couple of results on the board. There are so many things, transitions in attack and defence needs to be worked, set plays. We are stuck in this situation but we dont have time. If we get out noses in front that affects our quality and calmness of play.
Sunil Chhetri, "[On presenter get his height wrong] I am 5'7" People who are short get offended so 5'7" please. We work a lot in training. Coaches ask us to stop training sometimes because we have game coming up next day. He doesn't get it right in training but when it comes to matches [he does]. I am keeping my fingers crossed. People who saw the injury say his cheekbone is gone. I am really worried for him. The news was spreading and we were down for 5 minutes when they got the goal. Then the subs came on to get us the win. I think it was the meeting we had were we said that you won't win nothing if we don't work hard. To win the championship we have to do it day in, day out. ATKMB was another example yesterday about how people come back to defend."
FULL-TIME! Bengaluru had to work really hard for that win. Six unbeaten matches to the start of the season. Odisha's winless start continues. BFC moves third after that win, while Odisha remains 10th after its fifth defeat. Cleiton has proved to be a valuable addition for BFC, which was goal-shy last season, and has three goals this season.
90'+5' Brown finds the hands of Arshdeep after BFC break forward on the counter. Foul called against Taylor on Juanan inside BFC's box. That should be the three points for BFC.
90'+4' Yellow card for Khabra after he fouls Sarangi.
90'+1' Marceinho's corner doesn't find any of his teammates and the ball goes behind for a goal kick.
Five minutes of added time.
89' BFC SUB: Chhetri OFF, Semboi Haokip ON
86' Khabra with a run from the left into the edge of the box and takes a shot from distance but hsi effort goes wide.
84' Yellow card to Pratik for time-wasting.
82' Can Odisha have another say in this game? Just when it was getting a foothold into the contest, BFC has delivered a suckerpunch.
79' GOAL! 2-1 BFC! Cleiton Silva smashes Bengaluru into the lead! What an inspired sub from Cuadrat. A long ball is headed into Brown inside the box by Udanta and the striker holds the ball before laying into the path of the Brazilian, who smashes it past Arshdeep from close range!
78' BFC SUBS: Suresh, Paartalu OFF; Brown, Amay ON
77' Drinks break called.
75' BFC corner is cleared away by Marcelinho.
73' OFC SUBS: Onwu, Jerry OFF; Nandha, Marcelinho ON
72' GOAL! 1-1 It's the captain, Steven Taylor! A well deserved goal for Odisha! Jerry's freekick to the far post is met by Taylor's run and he nods the ball into the far corner on the slide! Cue the celebrations!
Animated instructions for Marcelinho by head coach Stuart Baxter on the sidelines.
69' Jerry with a volleyed strike from outside the box and Gurpreet moves across his line to collect it low.
68' Udanta is released down the right and the winger sets up Paartalu into the centre and the Aussie's side-footed shot is saved well by Arshdeep with a one-handed effort.
65' Odisha has been on the ascendancy pushing for the equaliser.. Cole Alexander pulling the strings in the midfield. Dimas goes down with a shoulder challenge from Bora. Breather for BFC.
62' How did Odisha not score from that? Shubam's cross from the right falls into the path of Bora, who has two swipes at it. Gurpreet scrambles across his line to push the ball away from going into the net.
60' Corner for Odisha after Vinit's cross is deflected behind.
57' Vinit with a through ball to find Onwu's run but the pass has too much pace and rolls into the hands of Gurpreet.
56' Good pressure from BFC from the free-kick and Cleiton wins a corfner on the left side.
54' BFC sub: Ashique, Opseth OFF; Udanta, Fran Gonzalez ON
53' Suresh with a superb run from the middle of the park to the right channel, getting away from three markers before being fouled down the right flank.
50' Ashique is down receiving treatment after his ankle was clipped by Jerry. On closer look, Ashique had a knock to his right eye and it's swollen. He seems a bit disoriented and is walking out through the touchline.
48' Long ball finds Mauricio on the edge of the box and he turns to feed Jerry but Ashique gets in the way of the pass and ends up winning a free kick against the Odisha winger. Mauricio had enough room to take a shot from distance there with no BFC player closing him down.
46' Odisha kicks off the second half.
SECOND HALF
Throw in goes out for a goalkick and that's the end of the half. Chhetri's goal gives BFC a deserving 1-0 lead but Odisha will feel it was hard done by the offside call with denied it a goal early on. That header was Chhetri's 50th goal contribution in the ISL, only the second player to do so.
Two minutes of added time.
44' Bora with a crucial block as Opseth cuts in from the right to fire a shot at goal. Corner for BFC.
42' Bengaluru on the ascendancy again looking to add another goal before half-time. Mauricio was played through on ball after the goal but he is flagged offside, rightly this time.
38' GOAL! It's that man again, Chhetri! A carbon copy of that goal against Blasters. Chhetri takes matter into his own hands, feet and head. Khabra hooks in a left footed cross and Chhetri jumps over Sarangi to fire a bullet header into the net! Stunning from the BFC skipper.
37' Dimas with a long ball to find Chhetri, who once again goes down leaning against Sarangi. Chhetri is not happy and has a word with the referee.
33' Bengaluru's build up has been good from their own third up until the final third of Odisha, where it hasn't been able to break down Odisha's defensive shape.
Cooling break taken
28' Chhetri goes down inside the box after Sarangi holds him up from going for a header to meet Suresh's hooked cross. No penalty given.
26' Bengaluru dominating possession. 58 percent and has attempted close to 150 passes to Odisha's 100.
21' Pinball alert! Six different BFC players queue up inside the Odisha box to score but none of them can make the right connection. Odisha defenders hold their composure to finally clear the ball away.
20' Route one football at its best and nearly gets the reward for it. Goalkick to Mauricio is nodded on for Cole Alexander in space. Cole makes a run to the edge of the box but instead of finding a teammate, he hits a tame shot wide.
18' Odisha is looking to beat the BFC high backline with long balls over the top. Odisha has fast runners in Onwu and Jerry on either side.
14' Ball robbed off Chhetri at the edge of his own box by Jerry and a cross is hooked into the area. But Pratik heads it away for a throw in.
10' From a throw in, Jerry reverses it to Onwu and the BFC defenders switch off. Onwu swings in a low cross into the six yard space which narrowly misses Mauricio's run.
9' Oh dear.. Mauricio threads a ball through for Onwu, who beats the offside trap and slots the ball past Gurpreet but the assistant ref puts the flag up. Replay shows Onwu was onside. Odisha can't catch a break.
7' Good build-up play down the right for Bengaluru and a cutback for Cleiton falls into the path of Dimas, who can't keep his fierce driving effort on target.
6' Poor cross from the right by Jerry after Odisha broke forward in space after a turnover in possession in the middle of the park.
5' Chhetri tees up Paartalu outside the box and the Aussie's long-range strike flies over the top right corner bar.
2' What a cbance for Opseth. Paartalu's cross into the box is deflected into the path of Opseth, but he can't connect with his sidefoot volley.
1' Bengaluru kicks off from right to left. False kick-off... Referee reorders a second take. We go again. A corner comes of it. Arshdeep pushes it away.
