Mohun bagan thrashes FCI 5-0

Aser Dipanda Dicka scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win to help Mohun Bagan stay in title hunt for the Calcutta Football League.

Dicka scored a hat-trick while Mahata and Kim Kima added further gloss to the scoreline for Mohun Bagan in a 5-0 win against FCI.

Aser Dipanda Dicka scored a hat-trick to help Mohun Bagan thrash Food Corporation of India FC 5-0 in a Premier Division-A match of the Calcutta Football League at its home ground on Wednesday.  Looking to stay in the title hunt after playing a 2-2 draw against traditional rival East Bengal in the previous outing, Mohun Bagan started the scoring process late.

Dicka fetched the lead in the injury-time of the first half to see Mohun Bagan gain the psychological advantage before the break.

The Cameroonian striker doubled the lead in the 61st minute when he nodded home a cross from right-back Arijit Bagui.

Dicka completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute making the most of a cross from Pintu Mahata. The FCI was reduced to 10 men in the 72nd minute when its captain Lakshmi Kanta Dey was given marching orders for a foul on Dicka.

Mahata (73rd minute) and Kim-Kima (83rd minute) found the target once each to complete the scoring process. Mohun Bagan tallied 23 points from nine matches to remain on top of the standings. The result: Mohun Bagan 5 (Aser Dipanda Dicka 45+3, 61, 67, Pintu Mahata 73, Kim-Kima 83) bt FCI FC 0.
