Mumbai City FC announced the signing of central defender Pratik Chaudhari from Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Jamshedpur FC on Thursday.

Pratik joins the Mumbai City defence after Lucian Goian — captain and a pivotal part of the Mumbai backline — left the club for Chennaiyin. Croatian Mato Grgic was also signed by the Islanders in June, from NorthEast United to add to its defence.

Pratik played nine matches for Jamshedpur last year. Prior to his stint at the Jharkhand-based club, he played for Delhi Dynamos and Kerala Blasters in the ISL and Mumbai FC in the I-League, among other clubs.

In addition to Pratik, Mumbai will also see new addition to its defence in the likes of Anwar Ali Jr, Hmingthanmawia and Sarthak Golui.
