Anirban Lahiri begins his preparation for the Augusta Masters with a second appearance at the Houston Open, a week ahead of the year’s first Major.

Lahiri, who is playing his first full season on the PGA Tour this season, has been having a decent first season.

Of his nine starts in the 2015-16 wrap around season, Lahiri has made the cut in seven.

Though he was T-21 at the CIMB Classic in late 2015, when the PGA Tour season began, he has had no less than three finishes at T-28 — at the Career Builder Challenge, WGC-Cadillac and WGC-Dell Match play.

He was second at the Hero Indian Open two weeks ago.

Lahiri’s appearance at Houston Open is part of the preparation for Augusta, where he made the cut last season and finished T-49.

“There are some similarities and I want some good tournament rhythm for the Masters, which I just love playing and would love to be back there every year,” said Lahiri.

Lahiri will continue to devote more time on the PGA Tour the whole season, though he will make some starts in the big events in Europe later in the season.

Lahiri is currently 94th in FedEX Cup standings with earnings of around USD 392,000. He plays his first round at Houston with James Hicks and Cameron Triangle.

The field includes Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler among others.
