The visitor got off to a good start, controlling the play in midfield throughout the first quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, India pulled off a beautiful move, capped off by Kumari in the 19th minute - she deceived Tasmania’s goalkeeper Ruby-Rose Haywood - to hand India the lead.

It was a rough third quarter with some strong tackles resulting in a yellow card each for both teams. Tasmania tried to break the opposition back line but came empty handed against a spirited India, which enjoyed its one-goal lead for the rest of the match denying the Tasmanians a much-needed equaliser.
