Hockey India League 2024 Auction: Sukhjeet Singh goes to Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers for 42 lakhs

Sukhjeet Singh, member of the Paris Olympics bronze medal-winning Indian squad, will play for Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers in the Hockey India League 2024-25.
The forward was picked by the team for 42 lakhs during the players’ auction in Delhi on Sunday.
Sukhjeet was selected for the national side in 2018 but sustained a back injury which left him unable to join. He finally made his debut for the Indian team at the 2022–23 Men’s FIH Pro League and went on to score six goals in the edition.
The 27-year-old also featured in the Indian squad which won gold at the 2022 Asian Games and and 2023 Asian Champions Trophy.
Sukhjeet played for India in the 2023 World Cup, scoring three goals in the tournament. Most recently, he was part of the side which won back-to-back Asian Champions Trophy titles in 2023 and 2024.
