Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo poked fun at Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel following the German's radio outburst at Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix.

Vettel and Ricciardo were fighting for the last spot on the podium in Catalunya, with the Australian catching the former heading into the closing laps.

Ricciardo was able to close in on third-place Vettel down the DRS-assisted main straight and he attempted to pass the Ferrari driver down the inside at turn one.

Despite making the ambitious overtake, Ricciardo ran slightly wide and Vettel managed to reclaim his position, going on to finish in third after Ricciardo suffered a puncture.

However, the move did not sit well with the German, immediately complaining on his radio, saying: "What is this, racing or ping pong?!"

Ricciardo responded with a cheeky Tweet on Monday, posting a photo of actor Will Ferrell playing table tennis with the caption: "Love a good game of ping pong".
