Mumbai's Nayan Chatterjee and Hyderabad’s Anindith Reddy won a race each in the Euro JK 17, the premier class, in the second round of the 20th JK Tyre FMSCI National racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit in Chettipalayam here on Saturday.

The top five drivers were locked in an intense battle in the Euro JK. Chennai's Vishnu Prasad, who started on pole, was in his elements. He built a nice lead upfront and even clocked the fastest lap with a timing of 1:01.218. But just when he looked set for a comfortable win, Sandeep Kumar crashed forcing the safety car out.

Despite that, Vishnu continued to lead. Australia's Ricky Capo found some space and jumped into second position even as Nayan and Anindith battled from behind.

However, in the penultimate lap, Vishnu cursed his fate as his engine suddenly stalled. Nayan cashed in on the chance to finish on top.

It was an equally gripping second race which Anindith won.
