Dani Pedrosa has extended his association with Repsol Honda until 2018 after signing a two-year extension. The Spanish rider has been with Honda throughout his career and has been part of the Repsol Honda team since making his MotoGP debut in 2006.

In those 10 years, Pedrosa has never finished outside of the top five in the end-of-season rider standings, claiming second place on three occasions. Race wins have dried up in recent seasons due to the emergence of teammate Marc Marquez, but he had no hesitation in agreeing a new deal with the team.

"I'm very happy to be able to announce my renewal with the

Repsol Honda Team," he said. "I'm very grateful to
Honda for the trust they've shown in renewing with me for an additional two years. I think it's best for me to continue with the company I was with at my very first race.

"I'm happy that the negotiations have been quick, and now I can just focus on racing. I want to give 100 per cent this weekend at the Italian GP."

In 171 starts for Repsol Honda, Pedrosa has won 28 races and finished on the podium a total of 101 times.
