Tokyo, Golf: Lahiri T-42 and Mane 56th; Schauffele takes gold

Anirban Lahiri shot a final-round 72 for a tally of 279 to finish a disappointing tied 42nd in the 60-player field at the Olympic Games on Sunday. Compatriot Udayan Mane also shot a 72 for an aggregate of 287 to end up 56th.

 

Overnight leader Xander Schauffele (USA) won the gold medal with a tally of 18-under 266. Rory Sabbatini (Slovakia) took the silver after setting a course record of 61 for a total of 267.

The bronze went to Chinese Taipei’s C. T. Pan (269), who won a rare seven-player sudden-death playoff on the fourth hole.
