Triathlon

Fifty-five athletes per gender can qualify for the Games, with only a maximum of six each per NOC.

Qualification process: Mixed relay  

• 7 highest ranked NOCs on the ITU Mixed Relay Olympic qualification ranking will be allocated two quota places per gender.  
• NOCs that have not qualified through the ITU Mixed Relay Olympic qualification ranking can participate in the 2020 ITU Mixed Relay Olympic qualification event. Three highest placed NOCs from the event will earn two quota places per gender.

Qualification pricess: Individual

 

• 26 highest ranked NOCs on the ITU Individual Olympic qualification ranking will be allocated one quota place per gender.  
• To ensure continental representation, the highest ranked NOC not yet qualified will receive one quota place.(Allocation priority order: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania)
