Aditi Ashok slips to tied-31st after Round 3

India's Aditi Ashok, who was tied for eighth place after the second round, shot a disappointing eight-over-par on Friday to slide down the leaderboard at tied-31st.

Aditi Ashok is now 13 shots behind leader Inbee Park.

India's Aditi Ashok endured a difficult day on the course, slipping to tied 31st after the third round of the Olympic women's golf competition in Rio de Janeiro.

The Bengaluru golfer, who was tied for eighth place after the second round, shot a disappointing eight-over-par on Friday to slide down the leaderboard. Aditi signed for a three-day total of two-over-par-215, which left her 13 shots behind South Korea's Inbee Park, the leader, and dealt her medal hopes a massive blow.

Aditi had carded a pair of 68s on the opening two days, but she faltered early here, bogeying the second hole. The 18-year-old made birdie on the fifth, but a second bogey on the par-four seventh left her seven shots off the top at the turn.

Things went from bad to worse on the back nine, when she bogeyed three par fours in a row, from holes 11 through 13. A double bogey on the 15th was followed by a double bogey on the 18th, bringing to an end a sequence of seven dropped shots on the final eight holes.

Park (202) finished two shots ahead of New Zealand's Lydia Ko - who stormed up the table with a stunning round of 65 - and the USA's Gerina Piller.
