Shooters grab double gold for India in Hannover

Gagan Narang partnered Shriyanka Sadangi for the mixed air rifle gold; Annu Raj Singh and Anmol Jain combined well to clinch the gold in the mixed air pistol team event.

The Indian shooters continued to excel in the mixed events, as they won both the rifle and pistol gold medals, in the International shooting Competition of Hannover in Germany.

World and Olympic medallist Gagan Narang partnered Shriyanka Sadangi for the mixed air rifle gold, with a thumping 7.6 point margin over the Finnish team of Emi Hyrkas and Matias Kiuru.

It was the second medal for Gagan and Shriyanka as a pair, following the medal that they won last week in Plzen, Czech Republic.

In mixed air pistol team competition a day earlier, Olympian Annu Raj Singh and the young Anmol Jain combined well to clinch the gold, 1.5 point ahead of the team from Ecuador, Marina Perez and Cueva Yautung.

Interestingly, both Annu Raj and Anmol shot identical qualification scores of 381 out of 400, to top qualification.
