Men’s trap shooters finish outside medal rounds in World Cup
India has entered two teams in the mixed team trap event final with Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Shreyasi Singh comprising of India 1 team, while Kynan Chenai and Seema Tomar making up the India 2 side, on day five of the competition.

Kynan Chenai struggled after a strong start and finished 44th in men’s trap event with a total of 107 in the ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico. After the domination of the pistol and rifle shooters, India possibly found it hard to handle the unpredictable external factors. After shooting 25 and 24 in the first two rounds, to be among the leaders, young Olympian Kynan had rounds of 18, 19 and 21 that pulled him down to the 44th place. Worse, former World champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu who had shot 22 and 20 in the first two rounds, did not finish competition.

Zoravar Singh Sandhu resumed with a perfect round of 25 on the second day, after having shot 24 and 22 on the first day, but stumbled to a bad finish with rounds of 23 and 20. He placed 32nd among 58 shooters, and missed the final by six points. Sosa Lyndon of Luxembourg pipped Emanuele Buccolieri of Italy by one point for the gold, while qualification topper Vesa Tornroos (123) of Finland won the bronze.
