Prithviraj Tondaiman ready to shoot in Doha

Prithviraj Tondaiman is all set to participate in the Qatar Open shotgun championship.

After enduring an ordeal with the airlines, National championship silver medallist Prithviraj Tondaiman reached Doha on Friday, in time for the official training of the Qatar Open shotgun championship beginning with trap on Saturday.

There are quite a number of other Indian trap shooters in the field including the other members of the national men’s squad, Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Kynan Chenai apart from Zoravar Singh Sandhu and juniors like Vivaan Kapoor, Bhowneesh Mendiratta and Manavaditya Rathore.

To be shot over five ranges, the field has enough competitors to fill up 29 squads. There will be three rounds on Saturday, followed by two rounds of qualification on Sunday and the final for the top-six.

The Asian Championship, offering the final Olympic quota places for the continent is scheduled to be held in Doha by the end of the season, and the shooters are keen to get a healthy exposure to the range.
