Raninder re-elected president of NRAI

The president Raninder Singh and general secretary DV Seetharama Rao of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) were re-elected for another four-year term, at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali on Saturday.

Interestingly, Raninder Singh won the election 89-1 against the president of the Uttar Pradesh Rifle Association, Shyam Singh Yadav.

Interestingly, Raninder Singh won the election 89-1 against the president of the Uttar Pradesh Rifle Association, Shyam Singh Yadav.

While Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo was unanimously elected as a senior vice-president, some of the shooters like Ashok Pandit, Amit Sanghi, Darius Chenai and Sushma Singh were elected as vice-presidents.

Karan Kumar will be the treasurer, while coach Pawan Kumar Singh and Viraj Chopra will be the joint secretaries.

Shooters Sheila Kanungo and Ashok Mittal were among a long list of honorary secretaries.

The NRAI president Raninder Singh assured the shooting fraternity that he would take up the matter of 18 per cent GST (Gods and Services Tax) on ‘duty free imports’’ with the Union Sports Ministry and the Ministry of Finance, to reach an early resolution for the benefit of the sport.
