All India Squash Open: Pradhan, Urwashi enter final

Pradhan defeated Aishwary Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-3 in straight games, while Urwashi Joshi got the better of Prapti Salunke 11-3, 11- 6, 11-3.

The boys under-19 event saw Advait Adik of Maharashtra toppling the top seed Araash Mehta 11- 3, 11-4, 11-5.

Top seed Abhishek Pradhan and second seed Abhishek Agarwal steamrolled their respective rivals to set up the mens title clash of the GSC-All India Squash Open here on Thursday.

On a day when almost all the favourites in different age groups justified their standing, Pradhan defeated his Maharashtra team-mate Aishwary Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-3 in straight games.

Agarwal, also from Maharashtra, outplayed his state mate Rohit Kadam 11-4, 11-3, 11-7 to breeze into the summit clash at the suburban Goregaon Sports Club.

In the women’s section, top seed Urwashi Joshi of Maharashtra defeated her state mate Prapti Salunke 11-3, 11- 6, 11-3 in the semifinal round.

She will take on Maharashtra’s Navmi Sharma, who routed Mehak Gupta, also from the host state, 11-0, 11-1, 11-4 in the semifinal.
