India captain Virat Kohli has raced past M.S. Dhoni to tops Forbes' India rich-list for sportspersons this year.
Kohli, with a mind-boggling sum of 228.09 crores, is second in the overall celebrity chart behind Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Kohli, 29, was ranked 89th on the 2017 Forbes list of ‘The World’s highest paid athletes’ with a total pay of $22 million that included $3 million from salary and winnings and another $19 million from endorsements.
The sports star had “for good reason” already drawn comparisons to all-time great Sachin Tendulkar, Forbes had said then. Interestingly, Tendulkar continues his presence in the top three despite retiring from the cricket years back.
