Leicester City needs 12 points from its final six games to win its first ever Premier League title.

Leicester's mayor wants to rename the city's streets after Leicester City's players if they succeed in winning the Premier League title, he told Wednesday's edition of The Times.

Supporters have pushed for top scorer Jamie Vardy to be honoured by the local authorities, but mayor Peter Soulsby wants to see every member of manager Claudio Ranieri's team included.

"It has been a real team effort, so as well as Vardy Vale we would need to have (Kasper) Schmeichel Street, (Danny) Drinkwater Drive and Ranieri Road," he said. "Leicester has honoured its sporting stars in the past. There is an area named after golfers and there is also a (Gary) Lineker Road."

Unheralded Leicester is currently seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table and needs 12 points from its final six games to guarantee a fairytale title success.
