Lionel Messi often leaves people starstruck, but recently it was Messi’s turn to be left starstruck after he met his sporting hero Santiago Lange.

Someone had the power to leave Lionel Messi starstruck!

Lionel Messi often leaves people starstruck, but recently it was Messi’s turn to be left starstruck after he met his sporting hero Santiago Lange.

Lange, who is from Argentina has appeared in six Olympics for Argentina in Sailing, most recent being in the Rio Olympics where he won the gold medal.

But what makes his feat even more marvellous is the fact that he came back after fighting cancer and went onto win gold.

He visited the Barcelona training ground last week with his son, where they met Messi and Javier Maschareno.

The sailor talked to Barcelona TV and said, “We wanted to meet Leo and Mascherano. It was very exciting. I really like the simplicity in these people and what they mean. I lived in Barcelona when I studied at university career and I have liked Barcelona since the time of Johan Cruyff. I am passionate about the planning and sports culture of this organisation."

Messi too was quite emotional on meeting Lange as can be seen in the video.
