Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's '83

The makers of the film have planned a special event to honour the cricketers who were part of India's maiden World Cup victory at Lord's.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh will essay the role of former India captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's next venture.

Bollywood actor Ranvir Singh is all set to recreate India's epoch-making 1983 World Cup win on the silver screen in Kabir Khan’s next film titled ’83. Playing the role of former India captain Kapil Dev, the suave actor will take cricket fans back in time when Kapil's Devils clinched the prestigious silverware, beating the then mighty West Indies at the Mecca of Cricket - Lord's.

 

The makers of the film have already planned a special event where they will honour the cricketers who were part of this watershed moment. The winning team comprised skipper Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kirti Azad, Yashpal Sharma, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Roger Binny, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Sandeep Patil, Syed Kirmani, Madan Lal, Ravi Shastri, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sunil Valson and team manager PR Man Singh.
