The Sports Authority of India (SAI) in collaboration with Glenmark Aquatic Foundation has opened a third centre for training young swimmers in the 6-14 age group.

This follows the success of the first two centres in Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram which have been guiding swimmers to better performances at the national and international level.

The new swimming project, located at the Netaji Subhash Western Centre of SAI, will primarily focus on the development of young swimmers, with world-class training facilities and expert coaching.

The programme will be designed and mentored by Ian Els, the coach from South Africa with proven credentials. The emphasis will be on foundational skills, technique refinement and physical conditioning, while fostering a love for the sport by following the globally accepted long term athlete development model.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with SAI with the launch of this new centre in Gandhinagar. Our focus on young swimmers ensures that we are laying a strong foundation for the future of swimming in India,” said Neha Saldanha, Founder of Glenmark Aquatic Foundation, a not for profit organisation.

The new project is set to start on October 1. Interested parents and guardians of young swimmers have been directed to contact Glenmark for further information and registration.
