Pakistan’s Javeria Wadood, who was struck on the jaw and had to be stretchered off in the match against West Indies on Wednesday in Chennai, has a broken thumb and is unlikely to take further part in the tournament.
The Pakistani opener was struck when she tried to shy away from a bouncer from pacer Shamilia Connell that hit her glove and then her jaw.
After a precautionary CT scan and having been kept under observation for a day in a local hospital, the Pakistani opener was discharged on Thursday and is likely to fly home once her replacement is decided.
