Top seeds Leander Paes and Purav Raja tamed Liam Broady and Marcus Willis of Britain 7-5, 6-0 in the doubles quarterfinals of the $75,000 Challenger tennis tournament in the US.

In the semifinals, the Indian pair is scheduled to play third seeds Ruan Roelofse of South Africa and Joe Salisbury of Britain.

In the $50,000 Challenger in Japan, fourth seeds, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in partnership with Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia, scored a thrilling victory, 10-7 in the super tie-break, after losing the first set in the tie-break, against second seeds Alex Bolt and Bradley Mousley of Australia.

In the final, Jeevan and partner will play unseeded local pair of Ben Mclachlan and Yasutaka Uchiyama, which had tamed the top seeds in the first round.

In the ITF women’s tournament in Spain, former Asian junior champion Snehadevi Reddy in partnership with Charlotte Roemer of Ecuador made the doubles semifinals.

$15,000 ITF men, Meshref, Kuwait: Doubles (quarterfinals): Baptiste Crepatte & Leny Mitjana (Fra) bt Anvit Bendre & Anirudh Chandrasekar 6-3, 6-2.

$15,000 ITF women, Vinaros, Spain: Doubles (quarterfianls): Charlotte Roemer (Ecu) & Snehadevi Reddy bt Alicia Herrero LInana (Esp) & Ksenia Sharifova (Rus) 6-4, 6-3.
