Yuki Bhambri will next meet Jack Sock in the second round.

Yuki Bhambri sustained his splendid run on the ATP Tour as he beat lucky-loser Mirza Basic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first round of the $7,972,535 Masters tennis tournament in Miami. The 25-year-old Yuki, ranked 107 in the world, broke serve five times against the better ranked player to ensure valuable points. It was the first win for Yuki over Basic, who had beaten him twice before, once in the professional circuit in 2016 and the first time in the Eddie Herr junior tennis in the US in 2007. Yuki has assured himself of 41 ATP points, including 16 for qualification, apart from $25,465, before his second round match against eighth seed and world No.11, Jack Sock of the US. In the Challenger in France, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja made the doubles final, as they played a good tie-break in the first set against the British pair of Luke Bambridge and Joe Salisbury. The Indian pair, saved three breakpoints in the match, and converted the only breakpoint they forced, in the second set.
