Bopanna-Sharan in semis; Leander loses

Third seeds Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan stormed into the doubles semifinals with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Alexander Donski and Alexander Lazarov of Bulgaria.

Third seeds Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan stormed into the doubles semifinals with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Alexander Donski and Alexander Lazarov of Bulgaria in the  € 586,140 ATP tennis tournament in Bulgaria on Friday.

In the semifinals, the Indian pair will play Cheng-Peng Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia.

The other Indian pair of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja also made the semifinals, with a hard-earned 7-6(6), 7-6(10) victory over the fourth seeds, Dutchmen Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop.

In a similar ATP event in France, Leander Paes in partnership with Benoit Paire was beaten 6-3, 7-6(3) by the top seeds Ivan Dodig and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
