Saketh enters pre-quarters in Vietnam

Saketh was joined in the second round by his doubles partner Sanam Singh who beat Germain Gigounon of Belgium.

Saketh Myneni is the 4th seed in the Challenger tournament here in Vietnam.

Fourth seed Saketh Myneni beat Gerard Granollers of Spain 6-4, 7-6(3) to move into the pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Vietnam on Tuesday.

He was joined in the second round by his doubles partner Sanam Singh who shrugged off a lethargic start to beat Germain Gigounon of Belgium 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The Wimbledon junior doubles champion Sumit Nagal managed to win the second set in the tie-break against third seed Adrian Menendez-Maceiras but the Spaniard conceded only one game in all in winning the other two sets.

Qualifier Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan also bowed out to Hiroyasu Ehara of Japan, and lost the doubles as well in partnership with Somdev Devvarman.
