Campinas Challenger: Sumit Nagal bows out in semis

Sumit Nagal lost to Argentina's Juan Pablo Ficovich in straight sets at Campinas, Brazil, while Ramkumar Ramanathan lost the doubles final at Barcelona.

Sumit Nagal’s fine run over two weeks on clay came to an end, as he was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Juan Pablo Ficovich of Argentina in the semifinals of the $54,160 Challenger tennis tournament in Campinas, Brazil. Sumit, who had won the Challenger last week in Buenos Aires, to reach a career best rank of 35, collected 29 ATP points and $2,510. He also impressed with the at the US Open as took a set off 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer in the first round.
