Day in brief: In the men's singles ties, Jiri Vesely fought strong winds and a spirited Berankis to seal his place in the final of the Maharashtra Open. He will face Egor Gerasimov who beat James Duckworth in his semifinal tie. In the men's doubles, Ramkumar Ramanathan and Purav Raja lost to Jonathan Erlich and Andrei Vasilevski. It's been the mood of the business end of the tournament, yesterday and today. The players who get the loudest cheers have had to say their goodbyes early. Men's Doubles semifinal 2: J. Erlich/A. Vasilevski vs P. Raja/R. Ramanathan It's all over for the Indians in the Maharashtra Open. Ramkumar Ramanathan and Purav Raja lose to J Erlich and Vasilevski, 6-7, 4-6. Purav Raja and Ramkumar Ramanathan have dropped the first set which also went into a tiebreak. 7-6 (7-3) to Erlich and Vasilevski. At the moment, the first set stands tied 6-6. The first semifinal took place yesterday where Andre Goransson/ Christopher Rungkat beat Romain Arneodo/ Andre Begemann 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). The duo will meet the winner of this tie between Erlich/Vasilevski and the Indian duo of Raja and Ramanthan. Men's Singles semifinal 2: James Duckworth and Egor Gerasimov Gerasimov prevails to take the led 6-4. Australian James Duckworth bids farewell to the Tata Open Maharashtra. Gerasimov will face Vesely in the final tomorrow. The Belarusian player has taken the lead in the second set too. He leads Duckworth 5-4. Gerasimov edges Duckworth to take the first set 7-6 (7-2). Nearly every set going into a tiebreak here. From on evenly-contested game to another.
