Paris Masters semifinal, as it happened: Injury forces Nadal to withdraw, Djokovic to face Shapovalov in final

Novak Djokovic beats Grigor Dimitrov and will meet Denis Shapovalov in the final of the Paris Masters after Rafael Nadal withdraws due to an injury.

Rafael Nadal's focus will remain on securing that World No.1 ranking comfortably as he looks to make it through to the final of the Paris Masters.
Novak Djokovic will meet Denis Shapovalov in the final of the Paris Masters on Sunday. Djokovic beat Grigor Dimitrov 7-6, 6-4 in the first semifinal. An injury sustained during warmup forced Rafael Nadal to withdraw, with Shapovalov automatically going through to the final by virtue of a walkover.

Novak Djokovic has beaten Grigor Dimitrov to advance to the final of the Paris Masters. He will meet the winner of the tie between Shapovalov and Nadal which will begin soon. Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from his semifinal tie due to an injury sustained during warm-up. Shapovalov will automatically proceed to the final.

- What's at stake? The World No.1 ranking - Djokovic has to stay within 220 points of his great rival  Rafael Nadal  this week if he is to have a chance of finishing the season as the world No. 1 – he would also have to win the ATP Tour Finals if he is to do so.

Djokovic reached the final of both the Paris Masters and the ATP Tour Finals in 2018, leaving him with a total of 1,600 ranking points to defend till 18 November. As it happened :
