PVL: Calicut Heroes confident of winning the title, says Jerome Vinith

Calicut Heroes captain Jerome Vinith is confident of winning the title after his team reached the final of the Pro Volleyball League with a 3-0 victory over U Mumba Volley.

Calicut Heroes captain Jerome Vinith said his team is confident of winning the title after beating U Mumba Volley 3-0 in the semifinal of the Pro Volleyball League (PVL) at the Nehru indoor stadium here on Tuesday.

The unbeaten Calicut Heroes was the first team to qualify for the semifinals, and now the first team to qualify for the final.

Speaking after the semifinal, Vinith said, "We are confident we will win. It's not over-confidence. It's not a final, but just another match."

Vinith said the team will analyse the semifinal and rectify the mistakes.

Referring to it, Paul Lotman said, "They were 2-0 down, and had nothing to lose. They were in the lead and it's not easy to come back in a 15-point set. Their blocking was good. They are some of the best blockers I've seen in a long time. The back-to-back Super-Point and the Super-Serve shifted the momentum in our favour." Calicut will face the winner of Wednesday's second semifinal between Kochi Blue Spikers and Chennai Spartans in the final on Friday.
