Kuznetsova eases through in Tianjin, Putintseva out

There was no such fortune for Wang's fellow home hopes Zhang Kai-lin and Duan Ying-ying, who were defeated by Donna Vekic and Danka Kovinic respectively.

Chinese Taipei's Chang Kai-chen made short work of Vania King in a 6-1, 6-2 win, while Lucie Hradecka was a straight-sets victor over Andrea Hlavackova in a battle between two Czech qualifiers.
